Interim Accommodation Support

Jase croppy copy.jpg

Staying in interim accommodation can be stressful, isolating, and uncertain.

You may be trying to manage:

  • Housing issues

  • Benefits

  • Mental health

  • Physical health

  • Family Pressures

  • Substance use

  • Day-to-day strain of not having a stable place to live

You do not have to manage it all alone.

Our I.A Support Coach here at the Lighthouse Community Centre can offer support, practical help, and someone to talk to while you're here.

We may be able to support you with;

  • Understanding your current situation and what matters most to you.

  • Emotional support and a listening ear.

  • Housing related issues and communication with services.

  • Accessing benefits, food support and basic essentials.

  • Support around mental health, wellbeing and reducing stress.

  • Linking you with drug and alcohol services.

  • Support to attend appointments and engage with other services.

  • Referrals to relevant local support.

We are here to listen and help.

We don't make decisions about housing, accommodation rules or council processes, but we can help you understand what's happening, share your needs and connect you with the right services.

To keep everyone safe, sometimes we have to share information with other services.

You deserve support. We all need support sometimes.

Living in interim accommodation can be tough, and reaching out for support is a positive step.

We will:

  • Listen without judgement.

  • Treat you with dignity and respect.

  • Be honest about what we can and cannot do.

  • Help identify options and next steps.

  • Support you to access other services.

  • Work alongside you.

To support you, we need you to:

  • Speak honestly with us.

  • Let us know if your situation changes.

  • Attend agreed meetings where possible.

  • Treat staff and others with respect.

  • Ask for help if you are struggling.
