Who We Are
We are a community centre based in Liskeard, one of the UK's top 20 most deprived areas, providing vital support services for children, young people and their families, usually running engaging and fun activities, workshops/events that inspire, educate, and help develop skills and confidence for future life.
We identify local need and aim to develop new services that builds lives, hopes and futures. Our core areas are:

Social Isolation: Inflatable Parties, Community Events and a warm, safe place to hang out.
Youth Boredom: Workshops, Music, Volunteering, Work Experience, Youth Employment Scheme, Detached Youth Work, Youth Steering Group, Boys Group and Youth Drop In.
Health & Wellbeing: AA Meetings, E.L Teaching, Paddlesports Club and Cycling, Gym, Wellbeing Groups (Ladies/Men) Peer Support, and a place to socialise. Community Health & Wellbeing Workers.
Deprivation: I.A.G Consultations, Homeless Soup Run, Children’s Holiday Club, Food Club, One-to-One Consultations, Crisis/Winter Fuel Funds, Winter Warmer Café and Affordable Café.
Community Hub: Mini Soft Play and Monthly support/Workshops in Partnership with other organisations such as SWW, NHS, Cornwall Council, CAB, CAP, ARA etc.
Pathways: Volunteering/training/Job Opportunities, providing vital maintenance work for vulnerable people in the community and bouncy castle hire.
We operate an informal, friendly and confidential approach. We are kind and caring and understand the difficulties faced by our users through our own past lived experiences which is why we are non judgmental and offer a place of care where people can find tailored support.
We have a proven track record of seeing a need and successfully delivering projects that meet those needs, we have helped and supported hundreds of local people, we work well with other organisations many of whom refer to us and we understand and know our community.

Meet the Team
Clare Bevan - Founder, CEO & Manager
Clare is an award winning entrepreneur and business woman with 25 years’ experience in youth and community work. With a wealth of experience in business, community and children/youth work, she is hard working and passionate about the people in the community with skills to see a need and create opportunities to meet those needs. Clare is also a qualified Emotional Logic Coach and
Paddlesports Instructor.
David Wood - Trustee, Peer Support Worker, Detached Youth Worker, Emotional Logic Coach & One to One Support Worker.
Dave is a Peer Support Worker and Project Worker. He has 20 years’ experience working with young people in Churches and Schools and has been involved with Lighthouse as a Trustee since we opened but has worked for us since May 2022.
Dave is passionate about helping people, always seeing the best in them, and finding ways to improve their lives. He originates from Oldham in Greater Manchester and loves music and food.
Anthony Bevan - Trustee
Anthony is our qualified Paddlesports Instructor & Leader as well as Bouncy Castle operator. Anthony is also the Site Manager at Merryhue Farm (TST & Battling On)
Jordan Rundle - Trustee, Detached Youth Worker & Holiday Club Support Worker
Jordan is one of our detached youth workers and helps at our Childrens holiday club. He is passionate about the Lighthouse and is always on hand to help out when needed.
Kate Curtis- Office Administrator
Kate is responsible for our administration and keeps the office in check. She has a whole range of skills and not just in the office, she is always on hand to offer support and a listening ear to our users.
Liz Hollingdale - I.A.G Advisor
Liz offers a range of care and support:
Referrals, PIP Forms, Benefits Support, Winter Funding & Help with Christmas, Mental
Health Referrals, Budgeting Advice etc. She is kind and caring and has a heart for helping people in our local community.
Jay Cook - Chef & Gym Instructor
Jay cooks delicious food in our cafe and he is our qualified gym instructor. He works hard and provides a friendly service as part of our front house team.
Helen Roper - Project Support Worker & Chef
Helen helps to support many of our projects and is a valued member of the team, she works hard, is kind and caring and has a heart for the people in our community. She is also one of our cafe chefs and cooks delicious meals for our Childrens holiday clubs.
Sally Wicket - Community Health & Wellbeing Worker
Sally works with the local community connecting them with a range of services to support their health and wellbeing needs, offering tailored resources and support to residents when they need it.
Georgia Cartwright - Community Health & Wellbeing Worker
Georgia works with the local community connecting them with a range of services to support their health and wellbeing needs, offering tailored resources and support to residents when they need it.
Trevor Hatcher - Community Health & Wellbeing Worker
Trev works with the local community connecting them with a range of services to support their health and wellbeing needs, offering tailored resources and support to residents when they need it.
Ella Craze - Childrens Holiday Club Leader
Ella runs our Childrens holiday club in the school holidays. She is a qualified teacher and has many skills which enables us to provide an excellent, fun and varied programme for the children in our community.
Freya Bevan - Support Worker
Freya is our most regular young person who has been a part of the team for several years, she works very hard and is especially loved by the children who attend our clubs.
We have an amazing team of volunteers who work really hard and give up their time to work with us because they believe in the work we are doing.

Why Not Volunteer?
We have a large number of volunteers who help us with various things such as donating to the soup run every month, serving on the soup run, helping at our food club, groups and holiday clubs. We truly appreciate all our volunteers who commit their time and energy into helping and supporting us because they believe in what we do.
