Working with our community for our community
Who We Are
We are a community centre based in Liskeard, one of the UK's top 20 most deprived areas, providing vital support services for children, young people and their families, usually running engaging and fun activities, workshops/events that inspire, educate, and help develop skills and confidence for future life.
We identify local need and aim to develop new services that builds lives, hopes and futures. Our core areas are:
Social Isolation - Inflatable Parties, Community Events & Toddler Group
Youth Boredom - Free workshops, skating & music, volunteering opportunities
Health & Wellbeing - Emotional Logic Teaching, Paddlesports Club, Cycling and Wellbeing Groups
Deprivation - Homeless Soup Run, Children’s Holiday Club and Food Club.
We operate an informal, friendly and confidential approach. We are kind and caring and understand the difficulties faced by our users through our own past lived experiences which is why we are non judgmental and offer a place of care where people can find tailored support.
We have a proven track record of seeing a need and successfully delivering projects that meet those needs, we have helped and supported hundreds of local people, we work well with other organisations many of whom refer to us and we understand and know our community.
To provide high quality facilities and a range of activities, that are accessible to all sections of the local community to improve life and give hope.
To provide a warm, safe and friendly environment that is encouraging, fun and life changing.
To continuously develop and update what we do, to meet the changing needs and expectations of the community, both now and in the future.
To ensure we reach those people who are disadvantaged, vulnerable or who face difficulties accessing provision appropriate to their needs and circumstances.
To develop activities that increase participation in life, including through providing local residents with opportunities for self-development, volunteering and involvement in local decision-making.
