Food Club

Our food distribution service was set up in March 2020 with a goal to help alleviate hunger in the Caradon area by sourcing, collecting, storing, packaging and delivering food and hygiene parcels for distribution to vulnerable people in the community. We have now moved this over to a Food Club, the first in Cornwall, working with Fareshare and Morrisons to ensure we can provide this service long term.

Our Food Club provides good-quality food at a low cost, while also reducing food waste and it's open 5 days per week, Monday; 12noon - 4pm, Tuesday - Thursday; 11am - 4pm & Friday 11am - 3pm.

It costs just £4 a year for membership. Once you’ve joined you can visit the shop once a week to purchase a bag of tasty food items worth around £15-£20 for just £3.50! There will also be other essential items on sale for a small fee if required.

This service will be available to anyone living in the Liskeard and Looe area who is in a vulnerable position, that might be being isolated, elderly, disability, or low income. The only criteria for joining the Food Club will be to have an initial consultation with one of the Lighthouse Team within the first 3 months of signing up.

Also available is our Essentials Food Box, once per week and depending on availability it will consist of Bread, Milk, Eggs, fish, soup, beans, rice, jar sauce, pasta, cereal, fruit, veg, tea etc. The boxes are worth over £15 however for members just £3.50 per box plus delivery costs.

Emotional support is also available alongside a face to face and telephone support service for our users to address their individual issues and signpost them to other organisations that can assist them in specific areas of recovery.

We respond quickly with one of the most important resources people need, food! Operating an informal, friendly and confidential approach. We are kind, caring and understand the difficulties faced by our users through our own past lived experiences. We do not judge and are a place of care where people can find social support.
